Many budget feeders are sold under different names but use the same app: VicoHome, by Photon Sail Technologies (rated 4.8 in the US App Store from over 114,000 ratings). Bird features need a VicoHome plan, and its prices are shown only inside the app – check them before you buy. Birdkiss lists a one-month Plus trial.
Every camera feeder lives or dies by its app – that is where the clips, the bird ID and the notifications are. Store ratings are the largest pool of owner opinions available, so here they are side by side.

Also considered
Also considered, and why they are not picks
TT Nature, Heapets, Birdsnap – sold mainly as Amazon listings; we could not find maker specifications and plan terms to compare them on.
Perky-Pet Smart Camera Feeder – no subscription needed and a weight-activated seed shield, but $179.99 – above this budget.
Soliom BF08 – sturdy metal and microSD at $116.95, but the Soliom Pro app is rated 3.7 and Bird AI needs a plan after the first month.
Questions
Budget bird feeder cameras: questions
What is the cheapest good bird feeder camera?
From brands with their own store: the COOLFLY 2.5K Solar ($65), the Birdkiss metal solar feeder ($74.99) and the Birdfy Feeder Rookie ($79.99), all with solar included (store prices, 30 September 2026).
Why do Birdkiss, Harymor and isYoung look so similar?
They all run on the VicoHome app from Photon Sail Technologies, which also runs the bird plan. Hardware differs; the app and the subscription terms are largely shared.
Do cheap bird feeder cameras need a subscription?
Almost all of them for bird ID: VicoHome-based feeders, Wyze (Cam Plus $2.99 a month) and COOLFLY's 2.5K model after a 30-day trial. Most record to a microSD card without a plan.
Is the Wyze bird feeder a camera?
The $39.99 Wyze Bird Feeder is only a housing – you add a Wyze camera. The bundles include one.
