Bird Buddy not charging
What to check when a Bird Buddy camera won't charge, stops charging or runs flat – from Bird Buddy's own help articles.

Not charging - out of the box
- Use a reputable USB-C to USB-C cable; do not use USB-A to USB-C (no smart power negotiation, unstable/slow charging).
- Use the included cable (test it on another device) and an adapter from a reliable maker; wall adapter not included in the box.
- Before first pairing the module may show no red charging light (factory setting); go through in-app pairing regardless of lights. A blinking blue light means pairing mode - continue in the app.
- If it persists: chat on website or app Help & Support.

Stopped charging after a while
- Quality USB-C charger and cable; clean the port of dirt, moisture and lodged bird food; check the central plastic 'tongue' is undamaged; plug in gently until it clicks.
- Charge continuously for a few hours on a hard flat surface.
- Restart the router (off at least 30 s) - often a Wi-Fi issue, not the battery.
- Unplug, press button 2 s to see lights (longer if none); check app status - ideally 'out of feeder'; force-close app to refresh.
- Put module back in the feeder and test the live stream.

Charging times, LEDs, battery life (Nature Cam Pro / original module)
- 3800 mAh Li-ion; 2-4 h with wall adapter; faint red blinking = charging; faint solid green = full; first charge may enter pairing mode (blue blinking).
- Overcharge protection: stops at 100 %, resumes at 93-97 %.
- Typical battery life up to 14 days; 5-14 days without solar roof depending on bird traffic and live stream use.
- Solar roof: users reported up to 6 months in ideal conditions; 10-14 days in less sunny areas.
- Do not expose module below -20 °C / -4 °F; store indoors in extremes. Operating range -20 °C to 50 °C (-4 °F to 120 °F); IP67.
- Deep sleep mode: automatically from up to 1 h after sunset to up to 1 h before sunrise (based on set location); no postcards/stream; roughly doubles battery life. Unexpected daytime sleep = wrong location set.

Birdbuddy Home: battery / charging
- External 3900 mAh battery in the housing, charged by two solar panels; no initial charge needed.
- Manual charge via USB-C: 4-5 h (battery insert removable or charge via back panel); LED orange blinking = charging, green = full.
- Camera not responding (no chirp/LED): charge battery insert 4 h with reputable USB-C cable, try other cables/sources, then remove and reinsert the camera.
- Store feeder inside below -20 °C / -5 °F or above 50 °C / 120 °F.
