Panel size
How much solar you need
- 3 W for a single camera; 5 W charges 60 % faster than 3 W; 8 W delivers 1.6x the power of 5 W.
- 5 W and 8 W include a Y-branch connector to charge two cameras (e.g. Feeder 2 Duo); 5 W or 8 W recommended for dual-camera models.
- Chew-proof cable has a metal-wrapped layer for areas with squirrels/raccoons.
Solar panels are designed to keep the battery topped up, not to charge it from empty; charge fully by cable first (Birdfy).

Which way should the solar panel face?
Toward the equator – south in the Northern Hemisphere (Bird Buddy).
