Happy Birdy Smart Bird Feeder
Maker's list price $149.99
On paper a lot for $149.99: 2.5K, solar and a card slot. In practice the bird ID needs the paid cloud plan of the Tris Home app – the maker's own quick-start guide says so, the ads say “free AI”.
2.5K video with infrared night vision, solar roof included
microSD up to 128 GB (card not included), 1.5 L hopper
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Amazon: 3.7 stars from 148 ratings (3 Oct 2026)
Good for
A solar camera feeder that records to a card, if you can live without automatic bird ID.

You want bird ID without a subscription, or a maker with strong support.
No. Amazon listings and a paid press release call the AI “free”, but WuzuTech's own quick-start guide lists AI recognition as part of the cloud storage service you buy in the Tris Home app (WuzuTech manual). The Tris Home manual gives one free month and about three days of rolling cloud clips.
Without the plan you keep the app, live view and recording to a microSD card. WuzuTech and the app stores publish no plan prices; owners report around $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year per device – we could not confirm either on an official page.

Questions
Happy Birdy review: questions
Does Happy Birdy need a subscription?
For bird identification, yes: WuzuTech's quick-start guide ties AI recognition to the paid cloud service in the Tris Home app, after a one-month trial. Live view and microSD recording work without it.
Which app does Happy Birdy use?
Tris Home, a general camera app rated 2.7 in the US App Store (443 ratings) and 3.2 on Google Play (about 1,930 reviews) on 3 October 2026.
Is Happy Birdy better than Bird Buddy?
It costs less and records to a microSD card, but Bird Buddy's app is rated far higher (4.8 vs 2.7) and lets you identify birds by tap without a plan. Neither is plan-free for automatic ID.
Who makes Happy Birdy?
It is sold by WuzuTech, LLC in Ohio; the hardware is a white-label design on the Tris Home app platform, and the manufacturer is not named.
Does Happy Birdy work on 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
No – the manual says the feeder supports 2.4 GHz only.
